Im a fairly new player and have played a few games with my tau. And after some trial and error I have written a new list.

My tactics is to harass with my kroot and y'vahra while I annihilate their infantry with the other 2 tides. Will also have the hammerhead to deal with enemy armour. And will place stealth cadre where needed as I think they can be pretty flexible. And my fire warriors are just some extra wounds for my ethereal.

Stims for your riptide and EWO too.

An ethereal works well with a lot of FWs (like 30+) and he's a big a liability, given Slay the Warlord will yield two points. Only having five FWs means you are going to handily give those two points up. Your next purchases ought to be crisis suits, one of which, your HQ, Irid Armor and load out of choice (dual MPs for s start).
