Hi all
I have seen a few astra militarum lists including the Hades breaching drill. I love this miniature but don't want to play the DKOK rules anymore as I struggle too much with them to actually have fun. I am using my DKOK as regular astra militarum (and sometimes renegades of vraks) now and was wondering which imperial assault rulebook would let me use my drills with AM. I have Siege of Vraks and don't see any info about using the drill with regular AM.

Wondering as well if there is any way to use centaurs and demolition cyclops with AM.

No. The Hades breaching drill is a DKoK unit and doesn't have any rules for use in other armies.

It's in IA volume one, but I can check if the rules are for both regular IG and DKOK.

I know it got nerfed pretty hard, so outside of it's reputation, most people shouldn'g really mind if you played it.

I think the only difference is that it gives veterans the tunnel assault thing as opposed to engineers. Other than that identical (Or was anyway, havnt seen the second edition of the guard IA so may have updated it again)

Ok, lots of incorrect information here.

The Hades drill DOES have rules for regular IG. They are found in IA1(second edition), and include the drill's special infantry squad (no longer a codex veteran squad).

The regular IG rules are NOT the same as the IA:Vraks rules that the DKoK version uses. They're still an older version where the drill is a separate vehicle, arrives a turn before the infantry squad, etc. IOW, the massively over-nerfed rules that FW published in response to the (entirely unjustified) complaints that the old version was overpowered. So, technically by RAW you can still use the drill in a regular IG army, but you don't want to.

Your best hope is probably to convince your opponent to let you use the IA1 infantry squad in your C:IG army but with the IA:Vraks rules for the drill itself, since RAI they're pretty clearly supposed to be an update.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Thanks for all this info, that's now a lot clearer!
