Hello everyone!

I didn't think I would sign up to a wargaming forum after all this away from the hobby, but here I am. I hope to be able to make a contribution to this fine community for years to come.

I've had a turbulent past couple years and doing a couple hours of painting and modelling in the evening has been therapeutic to say the least.

It started when I was looking on ebay for the going rate of second hand GW models as I had to prepare to downsize (thanks bedroom tax). It was here I started discovering all the different companies that bloomed in the past 13 odd years and it got my creative juices following.

Then came Kings of War 2nd Edition and then after, the Uncharted Empires supplement and the League of Rhordia list. Coming across an official Halfling army made my day as I've always had an affinity for the stunties ever since reading The Hobbit as a wee nipper and would have a use for all the Halflings I'd amassed when I was last active. It reminded of when I used to run a homebrew Halfling army for 5th/6th edition WHFB at my local GW. I even met the guy who published his Halfling army in Citadel Journal at a Games Day that he was showcasing that very army.

Thinking about those times depresses me that the Games Workshop from that time no longer exists, lost through years of increasingly more exclusionist behaviour that led to the nuking of their fantasy line. Hopefully the Start Collecting boxes and the return of Specialist Games means they're righting the ship.

And lastly, it was all the lovely folks that blog here their projects that been very inspiring. Thank you to the lot of you, and hopefully, I'll be sharing too soon.

Outer Space, Apparently

Welcome to DakkaDakka with all my good grace!

Well I'm sure many of us (me included) never thought we'd be part of some "weird online hobby community". Yet here we are!

Yes GW have fallen from grace over the last decade, but that doesn't bother me and a lot of people - as long as they keep making quality miniatures, I'm sold

Looking forward to seeing what you have to show us in the future P&M wise

Hope you enjoy being part of the community, and welcome back to the hobby saddle!

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka
