Hi guys,
I haven't played much since the older editions from RT through to about 4th. I'm wondering where the most current Black Templars list/rules are located, as the chapter (circa C:BT) had quite a lot of deviation from the Codex Astartes, so I'm interested in trying to put something together that fits both their original codex rules for them as well as being feasible in the more current rulesets.

The Angels of Death supplement gives you a unique warlord trait and I think some relics, but otherwise Codex: Space Marines is all you need.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

Angels of Death gave relics to everyone except Ultramarines and Black Templars, so the only thing in there are the formations, Contemptor Dreadnoughts, Cataphractii, and the Warlord Traits.

Don't they get access to the Imperial Fist relics?

Nope, gotta have Chapter Tactics: Imperial Fists for those, so Crimson Fists get them but Templars don't.

Welp.

Also I just went through the fist's relics. Most of them are actually useless for the BTs anyways since the BTs already have the buffs the banner grants, can't use the Librarian item, one is a glorified auspex, and a fourth is a bolt pistol.

However I'm surprised that Grimaldus isn't holding onto that Crozius relic, considering that's what his old rules use to do.

Thanks guys, modern 40k's rules seem so unwieldy and spread wide right now. I can't wait until 8th and a bit of a clean-up/consolidation.

Be glad you're not playing Tyranids.

That faction has been nicknamed the "DLC army" for a reason.

I do have 'nids as well. They're right on the backburner at the moment, though.
