Recently came across a Temp. Scions Storm box which I picked up with a quickness. Models are awesome and this will be my first venture into any type of human army plus I haven't played since 5th. Looking for any tried and true tactics with Scions as well as Allies. I plan to keep the scions as the CAD.

One question I have is can I deploy a decaited Taurox and still deep strike unit it was bought for. I can't see anything against this in the Rulebook. Also do the Taurox gain obj. secured?

Dedicated Transports count as being from the unit slot that the unit that bought it does so yes.

You don't have to deploy in your transport so yes you can DS the Scions.

Awesome news, now I just have to figure out if I want to go Taurox heavy or Valk heavy? I'm leaning towards tank heavy equipped w/ML's maybe a few gatings for horde armies. And that leaves me with the option of mounting or DSing the scions depending on opponent.

Any suggestions of Allies and what they bring to the table?

The Taurox will be on the table immediately and therefore you can scoot everyone up ASAP and start earning points back.

Yes you can separate the unit at deployment and announce you are doing this. Objective Secured is a Command Benefit that SOME few Formations provide. The commonly used one is Combined Arms Detachments.
