So I want to field Gerantius with my Crimson Fists, but I don't exactly know how. Can I just stuff him in Lord of War slot for my Crimson Fists CAD? If not that, can I use him in an Oathsworn Detachment even though he isn't explicitly anot Imperial Knight?

Grenaticus is still legal, but he is not a Lord of War. As such, he can be fielded in an Exalted Court, a Baronial Court, or an unbound list.

So I can't field him in addition to my Crimson Fists without going unbound?

You can field him with two other Knights as a Baronial Court with your Crimson Fists.

Darn, I was hoping to field him in an Oathsworn so I could take him by himself.

You can always just take him as a stock Errant in an Oathsworn. Its cheaper.

Yeah, but they don't come with a 3++ Ion Shield, IWND, Run and Shoot, and Reroll 1s on the Stomp table.

Yeah but for the 33% price increase it's not really worth it

I dunno, 125 pts for IWND, an increased save, and a couple other rules is pretty good.

Looks good on paper, isn't really worth it in the game. The ion shield is still one direction, the extra move just helps him get into melta range faster (making iwnd a rule you'll benefit from for one turn normally), and he's still only firing one shot per turn (discounting the stubber). The extra 130 points are much better spent elsewhere, i.e. a vindicator with stormbolter to support your errant.

Sounds good. I can't decide if I want to run an Errant or a Paladin. I have numerous things I can use those 125-130 pts on, so that isn't a big deal. Especially now that I know I can't even field Gerantius.

Personally I always go for the paladin, the extra shot really helps and the range makes a big difference. Errants always seem to be suicides waiting to happen. If you face lots of termies, they are more useful, but the paladin is the best multipurpose one of the two.

Always default to the Warden, if you are taking a Knight and can't decide on which. The gatling cannon is the better weapon between the three due to it's high rate of fire.

I am not receiving the Warden kit. Just the Paladin/Errant. If I was, I absolutely would go Warden. What's not to like about a giant Gatling gun?

Couple of pairs of magnets and you can use it as both.

If you tend to go up against a lot of TEQs or vehicles, I'd go with the Errant. Otherwise, the Paladin will have more versatility.

Yeah, with Crimson Fists, I really don't have a lot of issues taking down vehicles between Sternguard, Tank Hunter Devastators, and my Rapier Quad Mortars. Terminators fold to the overwhelming amount of attacks my Honour Guard bring (~60 or so attacks on the charge). Even hordes aren't a huge problem due to the Quad Mortars. The Paladin ends up providing the bigger advantage to me. However, I wouldn't mind being able to run the Errant.

The Errant is the more aggressive of the two, due to its shorter range, which allows you to get into charge range easier. The range on the Paladin encourages you to play a bit standoffish.
