Not quite sure if this is the right section. If it turns out to be the wrong section, by all means move it to the correct one.

I've recently been exposed to the wonders of the KR Multicase, but I have no idea how to pick out trays for my army. Could I please have some help finding ways to set up a case so there isn't too much wasted space? I'm barely capable of figuring out how much space each tray takes up in the KRM case. Looking for methods of picking trays here. Are the bundles worth it?
I've decided that I want the Kaiser 3 or 4 bag, with 3 or 4 standard cases inside. (because I have a large Tau army I want to transport)

Peregrine - If you like the army buy it, and don't worry about what one random person on the internet thinks.

I have a Tau army that I bought KR multi-case for and i think they have some of the best custom foam around.

No one will really be able to tell you exactly what foam to get because we don't know what models you have, however i'll give you some tips on what to pick.

I usually start with making sure i have the capacity to transport all my tanks and larger models, then fill in the rest of the space with generic infantry trays. If you select bespoke case fill on their website you can pick exactly what you want in each box of foam. they list widths and depths for each tray and as long as your total depths end up at 1 then your foam will fit. some trays are half width and you can stack full width on top of half width however you like and vice versa, just as long as the total depth is correct.

They also have a great customer service section and you can email them if you need help, they seem to respond quickly. They will email you if they find that you picked foam incorrectly and try to get it straightened out.

For Tau. KR foam is very soft, so any poky bits, like anything on a Skitarii or Chaos Marine will get stuck in it and break off all the time. If your models are just square boxes, though, it's absolutely brilliant.

Battlefoam is considerably harder, so your model will be doing more rattling around in it, but your fine bits don't get stuck in it as easily, so they don't tend to break off while lifting models out.

Their old website had an autofill feature where you told it what models you had and it suggested foam & cases. Unfortunately I can't find it on their new site.

I'd suggest emailing them what you've got and seeing what they suggest.

I love KR...but I don't own any. Why? because their website is still one of the worst ones I've ever seen.

I used their Bespoke thing one time and put in how many models I had to find out how much foam I needed from them... It came out to something like $600 of foam...

I would suggest looking at a battle foam case, pretty cheap and 100% customizable foam trays

To many unpainted models to count.

Is that sarcasm? I have two Battlefoam bags and they are by far the most expensive bags I've bought for any system. I mean I love the things, there's a reason why I do only Battlefoam now, but cheap? This they are not.
