Well, got a bit behind. I've cleaned up the above guys, and done more of the baddies, below:

Some Heroes actually get some color, too. No more white character pawns and colorful goons! (Notes)

Yeah, I have zero idea what does or doesn't draw attention, but thanks.

On the brimstone guys, thanks, yeah the stock ones are just tiny and practically w/o detail... I think GW does some neat things with more wispy material, but then tends towards really bland schemes that make them uninteresting...

Maddening Mutant Boss of Chaos

Wow, these look great! They have that patented Spiraling Cadaver glow to them -- dark and piercing, all at the same time. The technique is especially well-suited to these models. Very nicely done!

Thanks!

tinfoil, heh, didn't realize how distinct my style had gotten, I'd kinda' considered these more generic, since I wasn't doing anything crazy with their lighting...

I love how the book (leather?) turned out on the one familiar!

interesting approach to the mistweaver. that model kind of confounds me so i haven't even tried painting her, so it's neat to see this

realism is a lie

Yeah, she was the hardest to decide how to paint... I really think they should have given her a full scenic base since that was kinda' tricky to incorporate. My best advice I can give for tackling the blending is pick mist and material colors that are pretty close, paint them separately, then mix and blend the area between them. I felt I avoided some headache with that approach.

And the familiars are just some of my favorite chaos models released in quite some time--they made me nostalgic for old GW where everything had more of a funky character.

So, took some action shots for a review I wrote.

So, my group got a bunch of play out of this game, but has unfortunately since dissolved, with much busier lives, these days.

I'm putting feelers out about selling this. The core game is complete, with lightly handled but unsleeved cards, and a sealed second copy of the rulebooks (the opened ones were damaged in shipping, but we've been using those rather than the replacements). It also has the hero card pack of a few dozen additional characters.

If you've got a serious offer, please PM me. If you're local to the Portland area, I'd be more than happy to arrange a pickup; otherwise, I'm happy to mail the set, including internationally.
