I tried to use Army Painter spray Primer.
It totally fethed up my chaos miniatures and I am quite upset.
The paint is spotty, and whenever I try to cover a spot
it becomes to thick and it totally kills all details.
Please tell me I am doing something wrong
because I can't believe that someone is assumed to
fething accept this spray killing all details
and being this hard to control.
I can live with the color not being even and not being pure red
and instead high lighting with all that wierd black shades
that comes out of it.
I can't live with the corny spots and the bare bits of naked plastic.
Anyway I also need tips for stripping the colors.
The citadel spray I bought for my Dark Angels
worked much better.

Got pictures?
it sounds like you have a clogged nozzle if its spitting
also shake super super well.
if its dusty, then its probably the humidity or temperature.

Follow the instructions on the can to the letter. When I started doing that instead of using it like a typical spray my results became way better. You can strip your miniatures of their paint using any of the number of ways mentioned in a quick Google search.

The only instructions I found was a crappy Army Painter video which was very short
and the little bit of information in the How to Use Army Painter system
which both says "just shake the can and spray a thin layer".
It's actually hot here and I keep my cans in a cool room.
There is some pain on the hole but I had no idea how the plastic head is supposed to look.
So. if its right temperature, the spray cannon is clean
I shouldn't have any corn flakes?

Something like under 20cm, which is way less than I think any other primer. 2. Humidity messes things up. 3. You should spray outside (unless you have a real spray booth). The fumes are nasty. And overspray.

Shadowrun is the best game ever. It's the only thing I have ever played in which I have jumped out of a shot out van with a chainsaw to cut a flying drone in half before leveling a building with ANFO assisted by a troll, a dwarf, an elf, and a wizard. |

I used the Army Painter Pure Red on a Blood Angels Assault Squad I was working on and it went on hideously thick. I sprayed outside and after I'd been shaking the can like an idiot for about half an hour. The only thing I can think of is that perhaps I sprayed from too far away or something because otherwise I seem to have followed all the conventional wisdoms regarding rattle cans.
Incidentally, I often use Citadel Chaos Black & Skull White sprays and I've never had a problem.

Army painter spray for me has either gone on like a charm or has gone on in such a thick, fluffy coat it wrecked the miniature. No in between.
The massive differences between cans and cost forced my hand and I went to an airbrush given how much money I was wasting on cans of spray paint.

The black rage is within us all. Lies offer no shield against the inevitable. You speak of donning the black of duty for the red of brotherhood; but it is the black of rage you shall wear when the darkness comes for you. |

You need to spray REALLY close. Like, half a foot away. It actually feels really weird. You need to move either the primer or the model extremely quickly, because it's so close (otherwise, you get a gob of primer on the model).
Also, most primers, you want to do a bunch of thin layers. On AP colored primers, 1 coat does it. And that's not by choice: If you follow the instructions, it's impossible to just give the model a light coat, because at the distance you're at, a single coat will cover it.
IMHO, it looks pretty good, though -- better than a lot of people looking for a quick paint job will do with a black or white primer, and a colored base coat. And, obviously, it will save you time, since you don't need to do a base coat.
Also/and/but: the AP color primers come out very smooth compared to other primers. Not glossy, but SMOOTH. This is a curse if you want to paint right over it with regular paint (since paint slides off), but it's a blessing if you want to use a wash (since it rolls naturally into crevices without much work). So, if you method is to color prime, then drown a model in a wash, the AP color primers will work very well to give you a usable tabletop result.
