Was flipping through my KDK codex and noticed that the Mauler fiend has 2 Magma cutters as well as 2 power fists. I also recently learned that walkers continue to get extra attacks on the charge with more and more CCW weapons.

So am I right in assuming that this scenario would take place when I charge with my Fiend

I successfully charge with him

3 attacks base, +1 for 2 power fists, +1 for a magma cutter,+1 for a second magma cutter, +1 for charging is 7 attacks.

In addition to the 7 attacks he also has TWO magma cutters. So if I hit with all my attacks that's 4 extra melta shots, if I hit with some its 2, and if I hit with none then its no extra melta attacks.

This makes for a total of 11 potential attacks on the charge?!

This seems crazy to me but I looked up his entry and the rule book for walkers multiple times and I keep coming back to this. Am I correct?

Magma cutters aren't melee weapons (they don't have the melee special rule in their profile) and thus do not generate extra attacks except by their special rule.

I figured i missed something. There are two though, so a potential 4 extra magma attacks though right?

No the effect is for a pair of magma cutters

Also they have 2 attacks base, +1 for the power fists, and +1 for charging for a max of 4 attacks. If you hit with 1 of them, you get a bonus magma cutter attack and if you hit with every attack you make (so 4 in the case of a charge), you get 2 bonus magma cutter attacks.

Hope that helps!

The KDK one has 3 attacks base. So it would be 5 attacks on the charge.

Dang I thought I was on to something. Thanks for the help!

Is that in the FAQ? Because my codex says 2.

Regardless, you're welcome! It should really have more attacks anyway... now that dreadnoughts have 4 base.

1. FAQ Draft did fix the Cutters can now go after the Unit, instead of just a model, this makes it a lot more useful against infantry.

2. Depending on how many hits, the extra 1 or 2 Cutters are auto hit, but at I1, which will be same time against power fists/stomps/other unwieldy.
