We have been running Azyr Empires since June and that will conclude at the end of August. The award for the winner is a replica of the sword Sting from Lord of the Rings. Azyr Empires is a narrative campaign where you build up an empire and you progress your hero from a champion all the way into a being of legend. We had 29 people signed up for this summer event.

In September we are starting a 1000 point championship division. This is modeled after professional wrestling with a mathematical ranking system, special events, etc. Our first title bout will be in December featuring an actual championship belt and will be a single elimination tournament with the top 8 players. This will be ongoing throughout and the belt can change hands.

We will be sticking to just 1000 points until fall of 2017, which ls letting newer players get their feet... build up 1000 points... (they have to be painted) and get into the game before we add the 2000 point division and the team division (with their own belts)

For the UK it's tournaments, tournaments and more tournaments If any UK readers are wondering where to find out about them, head over to warhammer.org.uk or tga.community to find out about them. There is a narrative tournament in Cambridge coming up, sadly the round trip is too expensive for me to attend.

I am trying to choose which tournament I'll be attending next - probably one of the next Bristol ones this autumn.

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)

Question: I've always wondered at the difference between a tournament (default) and a narrative tournament.

Sure. I would say there is no definite distinction and you will find some traditionally competitive tournaments (like the SCGT) still have narrative elements. But you have other tournaments where the aim isn't to crown the winner but to create a story for each of the players involved. Perhaps best is to show you the Realms at War tournament as an example. I would love to attend this: http://www.tga.community/forums/topic/208-realms-at-war-legends-18th-20th-november-cambridge/ - I recommend looking at the teaser video and reading the pack. This is not your run of the mill tournament. I am sure it is something you could do well to, auticus, if you're not already :-)

My FLGS is really just getting started in AoS. Seems like the GHB release really built up some hype around here. 40k Saturday quickly devolved into everyone taking about which AoS armies we planned to start. 6/8 players present decided we are going to be starting up a league soon. We're thinking it'll be a modified Path to Glory (smaller starting armies so we can treat it as an escalation league).

2000 Khorne Bloodbound (Skullfiend Tribe- Aqshy)
1000 Tzeentch Arcanites (Pyrofane Cult - Hysh) in progress
2000 Slaves to Darkness (Ravagers)
