So, the Blackshard Warhost allows the units to re-roll Battleshock, which is solid, especially with the Icon Bearers. Allows re-roll hit rolls of 1 for all LoA units in Warhost as long as they didn't move, too. Not too bad, if I am not going anywhere. The Train adds 1 to any run or charge rolls for Iron Daemon War Engines, which is pretty awesome. I can use that to help scoot along my artilley. Also, I can re-roll shooting hit rolls of a 1 for all artillery in train as long as they didn't move, which isn't bad once I get into position.

Overall, the fat squads of Fireglaives give me the most time to benefit from the Bring Down the Beast rule, which seems really damn useful with all the brutal monsters in the game. Worse case, they just chew up enemy infantry with 20 shots. The Ironsworn are just there to go in and grind down units in combat. Simple enough. The Blackshard is really a no-frills deal. With Unpredictable Destruction, the bubbles of +1 to hit rolls is nice, provided I get it (not likely). Unless I go for Great Destroyer, but then its only a 33% chance and that means I am not taking Lord of War, which seems way better for this army. The LoW 3" bubble of +1 hit to hit rolls is solid. Probably the best choice.

The Iron Daemons aren't my favorite thing, but they are not bad. The idea of them running over enemies is hilarious. With the perk of the Battalion, they at least go a little further. The Deathshrieker and Dreadquake are both pretty gross. I figure one of each lets me throw a lot of hate out there at a decent range. The Quake and Rocket Blasts are awesome - especially since you can shoot into combat.

Anyhow, thoughts? Anything I am missing? And ideas?

Pretty close to my list, I just have the bare min for the Blackshard (4+ to hit and wound makes me not like the troops, even at -1 rend, not to mention a 4" move) and added two Taur'uks for busting heads if anything gets close to the front lines.

I just set my Ironsworns in a line (so really two lines) and never move them, with the fireglaives backing them up, one on each flank in a block. I like to set up the artillery behind them with the Iron Daemons on each flank (ends up looking like a big square with enough space for the Ironsworn to run retreat to allow Taur'uks in and the Fireglaives spaced so they can both hit the front lines and still help the Iron Daemons on one flank and each other should one get charged), Taur'uks and command, including Daemonsmith, are in the center ready to help kill anything that actually makes it to my frontlines. Make the enemy come to you I say, you have the range (36-40" range means you are hitting most of the board anyways, unless you are going the long way and even then you will hit everything eventually as the board is narrower), just take out their big guns with yours and weather the storm with a line of dwarfs they either have to go around or through, when they reach your meaty center they have your castellan to deal with (and in my case the Taur'uks). After anyhting that can threaten your guns is gone kill other gak...I know they get bonuses for shooting at units more than 10, but anything like that that can't fly needs to get through your lines and Iron Daemons first...shoot flyers, fast things, and artillery.

Unpredictable Destruction is a good bonus, but since it doesn't help your artillery Great Destroyer pales in comparison to Lord of War...both the dreadquake and your deathshrieker are hitting on 2s with a reroll of 1s then!

Keep in mind the Blackshard Warhost allows rerolls of 1 if you don't move in the movement phase, you can still charge and pile in and get the bonus.

What is good about your list (and the Blackshard Warhost in general) is that you have your battleline for 2500 already and just need to sprinkle in more big guns or some Taur'uks!

Good to see another Chaos Dwarf player!

Awesome! Thank you for the advice. I will have to chew on it and see about those Taur'uks.
