Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

Has anyone ever used a full bloodthirster list, perhaps taking advantage of An'ggrath's goreguard?

I have only taken a 'full' bloodthirster list once; I took An'ggrath and two bloodthirsters in a 1500pt ally to a 1500pt (HERESY!) astra militarium army. From that game I concluded that bloodthirsters die easy and An'ggrath will never, ever, ever die.

On another note: blood for the blood god anyone?

I really want to field the Goreguard but An'ggrath makes it unfeasble for me (namely it's so comically huge in points that the only way for me to use it would be to play apocalypse).

Not to mention An'ggrath is resin, and I fear if I ever owned a model like that, I'd stick him in a reinforced glass display case and never use him.

Mr Farage is the Daemon lord that shall lead the heretical armies of Britain into deprived cults where we shall praise the glorious name of Khorne! (or maybe Slaanesh, if you are feeling inclind)

Is there anything wrong with playing apocalypse (if you have a spare weekend free )

Also who is to say that one cannot play with a glass display cabinet on the table?

Unfortunately I can't spare the weekend, my friends even less. Plus usually when the word Apocalypse drops, they break out the big dishes to proxy titans as.

Funny enough, 8 vanilla thirsters add up to 2000 points exactly. I'm writing another version of the Gore Guard where if you take 8 barebones thirsters you get upgrades for free (because that's the new Rage), an extra blood tithe point for every character killed by a model from the formation, and all thirsters share warlord traits.
