I'm planning on buying my first box of devastators, can someone pls tell me if it is possible to take a marine body, legs,body,head,arms, and use up the extra weaponry one them

The Devastator Weapons each have their own arms, and the arms are compatable with any of the current Space Marine sets. So if you want to use the much cheaper Tactical marines for bodies, you can do so.

Also apparently the devastators come with an extra set of legs, so if you can get an extra torso (the Assault Marines gives you 10 torsos for 5 legs) you can make a 6th devastator without requiring a single extra body.

All true. With two boxes and BaC bodies I made a full unit of every weapon.
