This mini was produced for a nice fella in the UK wargaming community who breeds otterhounds. They are very big, very uncommon dogs.
My partner picked one up from him a while back, and I did this over a day or so as a palette cleaner between army work.

Quite a simple mini, but very sweet.

I had a lot of fun making this base. The mud "recipe" is Stirland Mud over Scorched brown, coated in a few washes of Agrax, then drybrushed with Vermin brown. I then used some careful dabs of the GW crackle mud, washed them, and applied a little on his paws and areas that would get muddy. I then used vallejo gloss varnish and water effects.

The leaves are small laser cut pieces, and I inked them for different colours.

And I slightly tweaked the original tail to add a wag, and a splash of water as though it's falling off, giving a little movement.

He is very little:

What a sweet little model that is! I very much like the effect of the base.

Where did you find the little leaves btw?

Model Scene makes them, I believe.

There is not this idea.

That is amazing, it's a perfect little scene. And the dog is adorable.

Usually zooming in that close to a small model looks worse not better.
You have proven an exception to that.
The leaves (Oak it looks like) are a really good touch.
Just don't let it in the house till washed, I do not care how small the little dog is.

Thanks guys!
The dog's owner liked what I did, which meant a lot.
One of these hounds is a mascot in the British military, I believe he holds a rank!

Awwwwwww... That's a nice break from the sleek killing machines and blood-splattered daemons you usually see on this forum. Very cute and well done.

Peregrine - If you like the army buy it, and don't worry about what one random person on the internet thinks.

Very nice work. Was the model ever sold in public?

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

This is extremely good. You might want to look into doing pieces like this on the side for some extra scratch. You have a knack for it. It has a lot of soul.

It was sold in person at UK Wargaming shows by Ainsty Castings when accompanied by Jon (Dags). I could pick one up for you at the end of August, or ask if he has a public email address if you'd like.

You're very kind.
I have recently set up a small Facebook page with thoughts to do this, but my obstacle is confidence and if I'm entirely honest, getting a bit fixated by single things.
