I haven’t see anyone else post this so I thought I would share it. Someone has put the IRW Rateg up on eBay. The Rateg will be the prize for the Corbomite Maneuver OP.

You can make out most of the cards.

IRW Rateg - 18pts - When Defending if your ship is cloaked, you may re-roll up to 2 of your defense dice.

Tal - 3pts, skill 4 w/ a talent slot- If this card is assigned to a Romulan Ship, when attacking at range 1 with your primary weapon, during the roll attack dice step gain +1 attack die

Control Central - tech ??pts – After performing your action you may disable this card to perfrom another action on your action bar as a free action. No ship may be equipped with more than one “Control Central”

Nanclus – crew 5pts – Action: Discard this card to target an opposing ship at Range 1-3. The Target ship gains +1 attack die this round, but cannot roll defense dice this round.

Military Secrets – talent ??pts – When attacking, during the roll defense dice step, you may discard this card to force the defending ship to roll 1 less defense die, ?? defense dice if that ship is cloaked.

Main ??? – weapon ?? points – unfortunately this card is just about completely hidden. Looks like it adds a weapon slot and has some type of attack and you can only have one. Though if you look at the tokens a time token is included so this may be a time toke weapon instead of a disable or discard.


The Ship seems solid for a Romulan BoP. Tal is ok, nothing spectacular. Control Central could be really good depending on how many points it costs. Military Secrets is another one that may be ok depending on the points, 2 or 3 maybe, 4 or more and it will see very little play. Nanclus is expensive but if you know you will be going up against someone with a high defense build he could come in handy. If you can get some quality he seems perfect to pair with Thalaron Weapon. We’ll have to wait for better pictures for the weapon upgrade.

So tiny update. Someone over on BGG shared the rest of the cards.

Main Batteries - is the weapon for 3 points. Add 1 weapon slot to your upgrade bar. 3 attack dice range 1-3. Attack place 2 time tokens on this card to perform this attack. Treat this attack as if it were made with your primary weapon. No ship may be equipped with more than on "Main Battery".

This care will be great for TOS games especially when combined with Bridge Officer from the Vrax. An Advanced Cloaking Device will also help out a lot.



Contron Central is only 4 points So I think this will become a staple in the Romulan fleet and competing for tech slots with Cloaked Mines and Interphase Generators.



Military secrets is 4 points to make the opponent roll -1 defense dice and -2 if cloaked. As I feared it is a little too pricey. 2 or 3 points would have been ok, as is it's a bit meh.


So not quite the Hood for Romulans but still some good stuff here.

Nothing to get excited about here. The named ship is nice, that's about it.

The main battery could be ok on the science vessel / scout that only has a 1 dice attack, but if your paying for a weapon on it I think the romulans have better options in the pulse / beams from the haakona.

For free for OP play, yeah it isn't all that. However quite a few people enjoy TOS only games and that is where this ship has a lot to offer.

I must have missed it the first time I saw it, but Tal only works on a Romulan ship. Figures Picard, Spock, and Riker work on any ship but Tal and Bochra only work on Romulan ships. that.

Why does this feel like a watered down Doomsday Machine OP? And yeah, only on a Romulan ship sucks.

Its like they have suddenly started thinking about game balance, while ignoring the fact that the currently released material is already more powerful.

Actually I like this one a little more than the Doomsday Machine. It's not as easy to ignore the buoy. Though I think the field needs something more maybe some debris or asteroids. I'll have to check with the local group to see what they want to do. For Tin Man we threw out the scenario completely and played the Obstacles Scenario on the WK site.


Yeah it seems like they only remember balance when dealing with the non Federation factions. I mean come on they have 3 captains that grant completely free actions. The Dominion has Dukat but that is it. Romulans just got Admiral Liviana and Klingons just got Admiral Gowron. Even these are not as good as the Feds because they have restrictions, Gowron requires a Klingon captain and Liviana requires you have cloak on your action bar. Plus both only grant an action bar action. Picard, Spock, Varley and Dukat flat out add those actions and you can still use the free action for anything, ie ship ability, crew, tech.
