I've been working on this list for a bit now, trying to give it a decent balance while avoiding wasted points.

HQ
Harald Deathwolf w/ 2x Fenrisian Wolves

Elites
Scout snipers with cloaks
Scout snipers with cloaks

Fast attack
TWC all SS/TH
TWC all SS/TH
TWC all SS/TH

Formation detachment;

Elites
Wulfen Murderpack (both packs the same)
Wulfen Pack Leader
2x SS/TH with auto frag launchers
4x Great Frost Axe

Fast attack
Wolfkin
12x Fenrisian Wolves

I plan on running one unit of Wulfen with two of the TWC for the hunt and kill table boosts. Harald Deathwolf will attach to the other TWC. The Wolfkin formation is primarily for wound allocation/absorption. While the snipers provide a shooting phase from concealed positions.

It's still a work in progress and would like to know what you think

How many TWC do you have in this list? Is that 3 total TWC or 3 Packs with multiple TWC in them?

Ancient Space Wolves Venerable Dreadnought






Three packs if my math isn't terrible.
Personally I'd drop one of the TWC packs and one of the Sniper squads to free up 450 for a 'Deathpack' formation.

Wolf Lord on Twolf, twin Wolf Claws 185
TWC 3x SS, 2x bolters/bolt pistols 165
Grey Hunters, Rhino 105

They might not have the hitting power of the TH/SS wolves but they can run and charge meaning they can still get in on the first turn when the Wulfen fail to give Bestial Swiftness or the free movement phase.

I don't break the rules but I'll bend them as far as they'll go.

I dropped both of the snipers and one unit of TWC. Replacing with
Elites;
Venerable dreadnought with Blizzard shield and great axe w/drop pod
Venerable dreadnought with Blizzard shield and great axe w/drop pod

Fast attack
Drop pod w/ deathwind missile launcher

wolfkin formation
14x Fenrisian Wolves

A scout squad with camo adds a lot to a list. Two just isn't worth it. They draw fire which is awesome, but one "sponge" is plenty.


All TH on TWC? Way pricey... tone it down, have anti MEQ and anti TEQ units, they'll definitely get where theyre going.

3 units may be a bit much, that's a whole lotta something else you could go... variety right?

I'd personally keep it to 5 wulfen each, but that's me

So far - like a third of your roster in pts freed up... imagine what you could do...


A Blizz Dread > 2, if you can put him in a place where he is a minimal priority (wulfen, TWC, bigger threats) he'll do wonderfully for you.
Put him too aggressive in placement, *poof* he goes away like smoke.

You need a Knight haha
Or Iron Priests to accompany the TWC.
Yes that, IC's add so much to SW units.
