Hey all. So I've been really having enjoying playing my Lizardmen, but I'd also like to support my FLGS and work on a new army in the meantime. I've been thinking about going with Elves (mainly in their Asrai and Asur forms, as the latest Dark Elf range went to a 5E retro place that didn't do it for me).

Anyone got advice? We're mainly sticking with the stuff in the app/GA books for ease of reference and using Matched Play points, so I'm not going to be looking at the early PDFs. It seems difficult with High Elves in that they're split into the 5 factions (6 if you count the compendium and its highborn keyword), a problem Dark Elves face too. With that very much in the way, I'm curious as to how to go about building lists that synergise well. There's some great units, but given their bravery buffs generally require multiples of specific units, and their leaders only buff in-faction keywords, I'm struggling with how one would put together lists before getting to 2k points.

Wood Elves seem a bit easier, in that the Wanderers list is larger, and the Wood Elves compendium also has the Wanderers keyword so there are other options for characters too. As far as I'm concerned I'd happily dip into Wanderers alongside the various ex-HE factions too, since I think a coherent paint scheme could make them look good together.

Anyhow, I'm open to advice or stories on what's worked well, but in terms of listbuilding and on the table. Thanks!
