Here is your chance to tell the story of your Regiment of Renown over the course of a day, playing multiple games against like minded opponents. This is also a great chance to model and paint up an elite Regiment; there will only be a few models, so why not go to town on them?

There's some interesting ideas in the Rules Pack for small 100 point games (which they call 'Skirmish Play') that would make a good addition if you're looking for a 'Mordheim-esque' type of game.

I saw this! I am trying to figure out how to campaign this. I'm going to start a Thursday night league at my store and I want to start off small and actually build a force over the month.

Sounds like a good idea. I actually like this little rule set, as it continues the general theme of AoS: keep the core rules the same, and then add bits and pieces on to make things different.

The fact that it seems to be aimed at 30 minute games is great - my 6 year old loves miniatures so using these rules we are able to actually play out games to completion before his attention wanders off entirely. For bigger people it also means games can be fit into those spare hours you sometimes end up at the beginning or end of games nights.

I love this idea precisely because of the reasons you guys mentioned above:

- it's fun for a campaign

- it's a little rule set anyone can get into (6 year olds, their dads, anyone interested in miniatures gaming)

Basically, it's a great way to introduce someone to AoS or really, introduce them to The Hobby in general. Great stuff.

In fact, what's happening here was very much like how the current official ruleset for 40k's Kill Team started, just as a Warhammer Event, rules were shared online and adopted by the community, for fun little campaigns.

I do see cheap ranged units, like any given army's generic archers, to be the obvious go-to in these games, though. I'm thinking Archer spam, like maybe with Goblins, but I need to double-check the cost with the General's Handbook, though.
