Subject: Been collecting all year. Almost....Moving on from Tyranids to Imperium (lots of kitbash, bits)
So, to start. I got into 40k playing Tyranids. Here's a picture of what I've collected over 10 years;
I've never been happy with them, but they were fun. I've played (lost against...?) almost every army against them, and learned and fell in love with the game.
I've never been one to want to rely on Flying Tyrant... I was sold on the idea of swarm.
My competitive lists look like this... A lifeless functioning force focused solely on ObSeccing objectives with swarms and cheap deep strikers. (1850)
So! I'm moving on to RavenGuard (Successor), with Imperial Allies! I have the heads to prove it!
I'm being very strict about MK4 armor with MK6 head, while in some cases superiors will be fully clad in MK6
Meet the Chapter Master for my Successor Chapter!
And his lovely Command Squad, of well dressed .... command squadders.
You can see somework went into these... Commander Cloaks and Dark Angel Veteran legs for all. FW Stormshields clad with the Brass Ravenguard Iconography and shoulder pads. Some work on some arms to make the plasma guns shoot through the shields on some models.
Their job is to support their veterans... Here is a batch of 1 weapons combo;
Most likely I won't run them as 10 of those, but as I get future batches of '10' done, they can start mingling and figuring out how to combat heresy together.
All my veterans will be running single engine jumppacks, while my Assault Squads will be distinguished by their double-engine packs. Independent Characters will be based off the Dark Fury Assault model from FW.
They will be assisted by Scions many times;
These guys are currently earning their colors. As you can see my painting process doesn't allow me to play with things before they are done :/
but, they turn out well... The guys in front are waiting for their comrades before getting a final detail pass, but they're lookin' great!
They all hope to land.... safely... with the help of these allies!
THE INQUISITION!!
You can see the work done to change the weapons.... Because a bolt-gun and a power weapon didn't make sense to me. This guy can help tackle weak troops, as well as thin out tough targets for my veterans. He is lavishly protected by his goonsquad...
I'm working on some acolytes to expand it. Power armor and Storm bolters... Dark Angel Hooded Heads (That 1 veteran box went a long way...)
I'm also considering converting this dirty Mk3 armor (yuck armor much?) apothecary into an inquisitor with an ages old backstory..
making him an inquisitor has redeemed him for his bad fashion sense...Especially with that sickass kitbashed backpack. (once again, DA veteran box going the mile)
despite everybody looking kinda blue....
...I mean grey. Cursed.... Cursed.... Wicked Grey in lands like these!!
Their is one Blue fellow doing all the work;
This lone codicer is working on a list of all requisitionable forces available for me to command, and he's guarded by a steadfast, handless marine with a soreness in all his joints from heavy lacerations and forced imperial conditioning.
Here, they are organizing Veterans, Scouts, Sternguard, Commanders, and more to prepare them to earn their colors!
They will hold a proud Fortress Monastary on a desert planet, currently in the process of terraforming;
Soon, I will add imperial forces to their ranks... and things will get serious!
Why wait for the 41st millennium... Every day can be 40k day!

Nice work. The only thing that stands out to me is that the Xenos Inquisitor still looks very much like a Space Marine. Before I read the description I assumed that with the new shoulder pads he was Deathwatch.
Here are some examples of power armor Inquisitors showing the differences between their armor and that of a Space Marine

Yea... i'm not too into the inquisition lore (I just bought the codex not even a week ago), but the options to equip them said power armor.... so I found power armor

It always seemed weird to me that the Inquisition was always modeled with just iron armor (like medieval age armor) and not regular armor. I'd rather it look like what you got going on. It's the future!
On that note, it's looking good man.

I just got the wood for my table. 5x8 for extreme Armageddon games. This table is going to take me ages to complete! Static terrain, the layout can be seen on the first post.
