So a few weeks have passed since the limited edition FW model was available in GW stores and mine still lies in the drawer unassembled and unpainted. I'm not sure what to do with the little tucker, he's a lovely sculpt, with nice clean line and lots of conversion potential. But I like the stock sculpt, and may not do too much to it.

I'm just wondering how other people have been using the model in 40k games, if at all. I'm actually surprised that there haven't been more of these models showing up in P&M showcase threads.

Anyway, I'm thinking of just using him as a stock terminator captain equipped with a relic blade, it seems the most suitable weapon to use his halberd thingy as, and since Tartoros armour isn't available in 40k (come on FW & GW get on it) I guess I will just use him as a stock termy.

So what's everyone else done with theirs?

I think he meant there are no 40K rules for Tartaros armour, like there are in 30K.

Precisely.

IIRC there are rules for this guy specifically. Its in the box he comes in, just google it and it will pull it up

States are

WS:6 BS:5 S:4 T:4 W:3 I:5 A:4 LD:10 Sv 2+

Plus he is in Tartaros armor which also has rules which conveys a 3++

Rules are out there

Also note, i do not believe my post breaks rules as these rules are widely available and not sold specifically by GW or FW

To many unpainted models to count.

That's for use in 30K.

There is no specific permission to use the model in 40K, and there are no specific rules for Tartaros pattern TDA.

I have been told by GW, that the rules are for both 40 and 30. an Tartaros convays the 3++

Trouble is, there's nothing in writing about using it in 40k on his little data sheet. So it's a bit of a grey area.

It lists all his wargear etc, but if need to buy the HH books to get the specific rules for them in any kind of legit form.

I'm happy to use him as a stock termy, I was just curious if other people were.

This is what I've seen someone do, to convert it up a bit for 30K (Dark Angels).

Tartaros is 5+ Invul, not 3+ invul. Only stormshields grant that invulnerable save on terminators

Yeah, thing is GW will say it's ok to run anything with anything, as that's their attitude.

There is, as yet, no 40K data sheet, nor a run down of which codexes can/can't take it.

It isn't a question of compatibility, with opponents of permission it'll drop right in as a counts as, it is simply there is no official 40K source for it. I'd anticipate very few issues if you wanted to run it in a 40K army as a counts as with most folks (as long as you don't try and claim a 3++.)

But, to my knowledge, there's no 40K equivalent to Master Of The Legion or Paragon Blades, so a certain amount of modification would be needed, whereas there would be alternative/equivalent rules for a 40K version were there official rules.

To be honest i expected 40k rules for it in the box but nope. There are the non official rules that were put together in a store but they are well overpowered and although my local gw seems happy to use them its still with opponents permission.
Tarty armour is good in its way but you would be better of just using cata, since atleast it has official rules, cata armour with a storm shield and thunder hammer is deadly. 2+ 3++ rerolling 1s on the invun.

Yeah, I expected some 40k rules, even if they were just in WD. Was a shame they didn't do that.
