Hello! I was thinking of picking up a relic leviathan but don't know the best weapons suit. I am hoping to just get extra arms and magnetize but that's not the point of my question. What do you think is simply the best?

I was thinking leviathan, storm cannon, claw, ceremite, dreadnought drop pod.

Super pricey but pretty scary!

They're too expensive to not have 4 attacks base. I'd ignore the Storm Cannon until that's fixed.

I'd use the melta and the thing that does extra wounds to MCs. The melta weapon is super useful, IMO. Drop something in with the thing to make sure it can't be tarpitted.

I faced on the other night and for giggles charged it with a knight titan. The leviathan had both types of melee weapons. It was mutually assured destruction. The leviathan dealt 7 hull points and the knight removed it from play with a D attack.

If it is in a dread pod, pure CC is amazingly effective. Apparently it must charge if it can, and with both CC options and I5 on the charge, there isn't much that can survive it.

Question, I'm about to use one, so i want to make sure I understand the Leviathan Dread. How did it deal 7 wounds? Doesn't the Knight Titan have armor values, so the Claw wouldn't do extra wounds?

As for the OP, I'm playing Salamanders, so I want it fluffy. I'm running it with a melta lance and Siege drill for pure armor destruction. The dreadnought pod gives it shroud, and it can stay in the first turn it drops. So I plan to try and give my army the best cover save by parking this pod right in front of their biggest group of guns. Since the pod is open topped, the leviathan can shoot out of it the turn it lands, and assault the next turn.

I'll be running one with dual storm cannons and a CC one with either Melta lance/Drill or 2x Claws . Sure the dual cannons will be expensive, but anything in range that's not a Russ, LR or Riptide is going to be turned to dust and goo. Being that it HAS to charge of possible it's probably a good idea to keep distance from things that you will absolutely plough through as you can be easily baited.

Honestly, like most things, it depends on who you're up against and the points level. If I had to run a generic, it would be the lance/Claw with ceramite. Just for cost savings. Then again it's not that much cheaper than a dual storm cannons.
