Too many darn places to look to find one simple answer...

So - if I'm running the Baal Strike Force detachment, and the Archangels Strike Force detachment (both are Blood Angels faction but different detachments from different books)...

Can my IC's join units from the other detachment and/or ride in their transports?

For example, can Captain Karlaen from the ASF join a squad of BSF terminators in a Stormraven or even just to teleport?

Yes but the detachment loses its special rules for deployment. None of the detachment text applies to the ic.

Well... I take for example:

ASF - Karlaen and 2 drop-pods

BSF - terminators, more drop-pods, maybe stormraven etc...

Karlaen joins the BSF terminators... (so he CAN join them in BSF Stormraven for example?)
The 2 drop-pods from ASF would still get "Storm of Angels" rule for deployment yes? ...I'd be fine with just this. I could give them Locator Beacon and have them come in turn 1.

And, is it addressed in a FAQ somewhere that Karlaen wouldn't bring "Storm of Angels" with him? ...he is a "unit in this Detachment with the Deep Strike special rule" - that happens to be attached to a different unit. If not that's fine, I am just wondering if there is any precedence regarding this issue elsewhere or a FAQ specifically?

No, he definitely doesn't bring the rule with him. Let me read the formation.

Okay yes, since the unit that Karlaen is joining is not from his detachment, then it doesn't have that special rule, so he loses it. The two drop pods from his detachment retain the rule.

Some formations are even worse. For example, attaching any outside unit to Archangel Sanguine Wing makes them loses the reroll to arrive.

Ok fair enough, I can work with that as long as the 2 Drop-pods (with locator beacons) can come in easy and setup shop.

ALSO I just realized Karlaen himself has a rule that doesn't specifically mention any "Detachments"... it says, "In addition, whilst your Warlord is alive, you can re-roll any Reserve Rolls (failed or successful)." ...doesn't help with scatter dice but still not bad.
