My brother and I got our hands on the Imperial Knight: Renegade box and we had our fun with it. My brother wants to convert his Imperial Knight into something Tau (as his primary army is Tau and has been since 4th) and is considering the Tau Storm Surge.

Only question: how do they scale physically to one another?

I am not one to discourage conversions, but before you begin hacking bits up, I would look and see if anyone wants to trade.

If you do convert, instead of trying to make it look like a Storm surge, maybe make a knight who has joined the greater good and they have given him some upgrades? A counts as storm surge?

There's a lot of potential for neat work in SQRT's reply.. using tau iconography, and then modifying the plates, weapon loadout and all that, you could probably do some pretty wicked things with "Greater Good"-ifying a Knight.
