Hi all...Well it's been a long time in the making, but here are a few teaser pics of my fortified manor house/church.
As usual materials are foam core cardboard and craft sticks.
These shots are just of the outside...but yes, there is an interior as well...I will post those shots as soon as i am finished detailing it.

The portcullis is moveable and the hatch on the roof of the tower will be hinged as well.
Let me know what y'all think...ANY criticism is welcome.
Cheers,
Carl

I like the stone effect on the walls and the curve of the wall looks really smooth. Far better than I could build from scratch!

The thing that stood out to me though was that I had a hard time telling where the "front" was. Maybe it is just the angle of the pictures, but I thought the portcullis was just a grated window.
Feels like it needs a little more to make it stand out from the fortified grey expanse of the rest of the walls - like some torches or lanterns flanking it, a lighter stone arch surrounding it, and/or a little entryway stone or mini steps.

I think it looks great. Some weathering and perhaps some ivy or plants growing up it to break it up a bit visually would be nice.

Thank you guys,
I think a little ivy would look good too, and I am planning a base with some steps for the main entrance...there will be much more to come when I finish the interior.
Cheers

Looks great, if a little repetitive. Two upper floors could be removed for a more balanced look, as right now it looks as a part of a much bigger structure, like a chapel built into the inner court of a large castle with a central tower next to it. Some small decorations on the walls, and it will go from being great to fabulous!

Wirecat,
Thank you for that!!..A .MUCH appreciated view from you.
.I agree about the 2 upper floors, but I have an angle that will be presented to you all shortly regarding why i built it the way I did...
and I plan on adding some vines and a base at a later date as well.
Cheers,
carl

I made it so there would be many different levels of game play...in the "church-sanctuary" section, the walls are removable in order to allow it to become the Great hall...
the tower section ...ground floor would be main hall/reception and kitchen area...you will notice a trap door in the floor that would lead to the subterranian levels used for storage and livestock/horses in time of siege.
second floor would be soldier's quarters, third level would be servants or library quarters, and fourth floor would be the lord's chambers.

Let me know what ya think...ALL criticism's are appreciated.
Cheers,
Carl

Excellent both outside and inside! Not much to criticize here, but if You're asking...

1. Good paint job still leaves walls too vertical and smooth. Apart from vines and other greenery/moss You could consider buttresses, but this is most likely useful only on Your next project.

2. Continuing from counterfort, such heavy walls rarely can be vertical, making them slightly angled (each level/floor slightly smaller than the one below) could improve looks. After all, we are looking from quite above the table.

3. So many nice fireplaces around... where does the smoke go? Stacks should liven flat topmost platform, as should a removable flagpole.

4. Chapel and tower close by, but not touching, made an amazing photo. Please consider some court walls in the same scale!

All in all - congratulations on a great achievement!

The ruins of the Palace of Thorns

Looks great. I see a model which looks 28mm - is that right? 28mm scale?

IS it for use in any particular game? Would be great for Frostgrave.

Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.

Fantastic amount of detail went into that project.

At first glance I thought it was the keep of the Knights of the Silver Dragon, from Curse of Strahd.
