For those of you who do not look at unused stuff in games, in one of the special editions for the Phantom Pain, we got several images pertaining to a never-made Part Three to the story.
It had something to do with Sahelanthropus anyhow, so I'm guessing it ends the Eli arc.

That said, Konami has left the following questions unanswered, and with Kojima's departure (through firing or leaving or whatever rumours say) we may never get an answer to the following questions:

What happened to Eli and Sahelanthropus? You have a group of 12 year olds at the helm of a NUCLEAR FREAKING WEAPON!
Did Quiet ever actually die?
How does Miller/Big Boss meet with Solid Snake? Solid Snake was a FOXHOUND rookie agent in the events of Metal Gear MSX, so Big Boss would have had to have met him and recruited him.
Was Miller complicit in his own murder? It is hinted to at the end of the Phantom Pain that Ocelot would probably have to kill Miller, and it is revealed in MGS1 that Miller was killed either by Liquid, on Liquid's orders or by Ocelot. EDIT: Miller was also missing two limbs, he could never have put up a fight against Ocelot, so perhaps he knew it was coming and he couldn't do anything about it.
Was Big Boss' phantom ever aware he was being played the whole time? Did he ever really become aware of his true identity?
Was the real reason Liquid took over Shadow Moses not to plan a nuke strike, but to obtain Big Boss' body (It is mentioned that his demands was the body of his 'dear father') to get the keys to the Patriot's virtual castle? Donald Anderson AKA SIGINT AKA the DARPA Chief was present, who was a former member of Cipher, possibly being extorted for information by Ocelot. Was Ocelot stringing Liquid along or was Liquid fully aware of what he was trying to do?
Was Ocelot aware of Solidus' existence before MGS2? In MGSV's "Truth Records", Ocelot talks about David and Eli to Big Boss (The real one) but never mentions Solidus (George Sears). Was this a deliberate deception or simply a lack of knowledge?

We may never know the answers, but goddamn, I need something. Anything. What do you guys think?

After playing Sons of Liberty, I realized that the entire MGS storyline was written and created while on copious amounts of LSD, and thusly would never, ever make a lick of sense to anyone.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.

Finally someone put into words what I've been thinking for the past decade.

I thought that after playing MGS2.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

I thought the same thing the first time I touched the series. I actually don't like the series at all because its story is so all over the place and its gameplay never appealed.

Then it goes open world and Konami starts to be a big donkey-cave and I didn't buy the one good looking one because of how they treated their fans and Kojima.

At the same time I want to honor Kojimas legacy by playing it. So I'll wait until it's super cheap to pick up.

It doesn't help that the third part of the game was removed. Like completely gone. I wouldn't be surprised at what else Konami made Kojima leave on the cutting room floor.

But I can answer your last question, no one knows about Solidus apart from the Patriots themselves.

I would assume that it was just the Patriots, although Ocelot learns about it later. He brings it up in the end of mgs1 during the telephone call.
