Subject: [2000] - KDK/CSM - Can't decide which codex to use!

I have a 2000pt list that can be used as either a KDK army or a CSM army with minimal changes. It consists of 3 land raiders, each filled with berzerkers, along with 2 heldrakes and 2 spawns. If I use the CSM version, I will have Kharn as my HQ and access to dirge casters for my land raiders. If I use the KDK list, I will have a basic lord as my HQ and access to the blood tithle table. Can't decide cause Kharn is a beast and Dirge Casters are amazing on the charge.

I would normally ally the two and try and get the best of both.
Kharn has new rules coming supposedly.. could get lucky,

I hope so. It would explain why he never made it into the codex - they were planning to release him separately as dlc.

I don't know anything about these new rules for Kharn, but I have played both CSM and KDK and I think KDK are better...but not for your list. KDK are good when you mix in flesh hounds and soul grinders and other daemon goodness with your CSM bikers and juggerlords. They aren't really a big metal box faction.
For your list as is, I'd go with CSM. For making another list, I'd switch to KDK. KDK are great for swarms of flesh hounds and bikers and min-size cultists and summoning daemons.

This is exactly what I was thinking when I decided to ask the forums. Dirge Casters eliminating overwatch is huge for an army that relies entirely on charges and Kharn is a monster in CC. If I did go with KDK, I planned on using more of a tanking lord with blood-forged armour, sigil, and an Axe of Khorne. He trades Kharn's raw killing power for incredible durability, while still bringing AP2 at initiative with the chance of instant death. But while they're only a small upgrade, I think dirge casters will help this particular list so much that it makes it worth missing out on the blood tithile table, especially since I can give one of my land raiders a legacy of ruin that will grant all squads within 12" FnP.
