After a break, back to playing 40k with an army I've never used before - Crons. Always loved the models & fluff, so just getting started with them.

Here's a list I ran today, worked out well:

Here's what I'm thinking of trying instead. (don't have the praetorians yet)

Is this better, or worse? Worried about losing the buffs from Orikan, and no res orb. However, feel I have multiple scary threats, from two units of praetorians that I'd probably deep strike, whilst the destroyers advance in a bubble around the stalker getting great benefit from the BS buff.

It's better. The Destroyer Cult and Judicator Battalion are top notch formations. Mind you, I'm yawning a bit here because your army will look exactly the same as every other Necron army out there, but if it works it works.

I recently ran a Retribution phalanx with just enough of a CAD so I could get a orikan death star going.

Had D/Lord w 3+/4++/4+++ and a hyperphase sword (points restriction)
Had Orikan
Had 5 sword and board guard
And a 2+/4++/4+++ overlord with a warscythe.

By the end of the game I had lost 2 lychguard and took a single wound on the D/lord. Thing is crazy durable, rerolling all failed saves of a 1 is crazy. Plus orikans buff to RP is also very nice.
