Hi guys, a bit of a tricky one:

I just purchased the totally awesome xv109 jet-tide and to make the most of hit and run you really need to take drones for the initiative boost. However if you then swoop what happens to the drones? When it was released I don't think they addressed this, and since then the Coldstar has been released which has a similar arrangement for turning into a FMC, and it says the drones simply redeploy once it lands. As its not really clear, would people be cool with the drones staying with the suit? If not it seems kind of odd you can take drones at all.

Taking drones is optional, as is using the Y'Vahra's vectored thrust array. There are plenty of examples of rules and unit options that may not make sense together.

Personally, I wouldn't allow it.

Yeah totally agree it's not the only thing that isn't well explained! My mate raised a good point: drones can move 4d6 with the riptide despite that ability not specifically applying to the drones, this could be argued as a precedent

I don't believe this is correct.

Yeah. The nova reactor abilities clearly state they apply to the Riptide Shas'vre.

The drones can't keep up with the Y'vahra if it uses the big leap. You better not field them.
