Subject: [1850] - White Scars/Dark Angels - Tweaked Tournament List
HQ Librarian - ML2, Bike, Force Sword - 110 Points
Elites Ravenwing Command Squad - 5 Black Knights, Apothecary, Champion, Company Banner - 255 Points
Fast Attack Ravenwing Attack Bike - Multimelta - 55 Points
Ravenwing Dark Talon - 160 Points
1847 Points
The Chapter Master and White Scars Librarian (Rolling on either Technomancy, Telepathy, or Librarius. Haven't decided yet) go with the Grav Command Squad for a very tanky unit (3++ w/FNP) that pumps out a good amount of Ignore Cover grav into hard targets. Assaulting is also fair game given the Glaive on the chapter master throws out 5 S7 AP 2 hits on the charge. The Dark Angels Librarian (Rolling on Interromancy) goes with the Ravenwing Command Squad.
The CAD and the Land Speeder will start out on the board. Their job is to get into position and weather the storm until turn 2. At which point the Storm Talons come in automatically (Thanks to the Raptor Wing Formation) and the Dark Angels stuff all outflanks (Thanks to the Ravenwing Strike Force Formation). With 3 flyers, 2 kitted out command squads, multiple bike squads, and psychic support, this should be a fairly solid Turn 2 hammer that will give me good control of the board and ability to deal with most threats.
So far, I like the way this runs, but I haven't had a chance to take it into a tournament yet and see how it fares against lists outside those of my friends. Any ideas on what to add or move I would appreciate. I have most marine models and an Imperial Knight I can bring, but I have no other bike models aside from whats listed in here.
As fun as the darkshroud looked giving 2+ Rerollable Jink saves, I thought that it would be too unreliable to get in near the RW command squad (Since both have to outflank). If they end up separated, the Command Squad will still likely be okay, but the Darkshroud would be all alone as its very fragile self.
Not really, the Dark shroud also have a 2+ rerollable jink, what you do is, you use them to pin down your opponents heavy hitters.
For example what i did was when fighting the ad mech, they had those spider tanks with the S10 AP 1 blast, i kept all 3 of them pinned down. As long as your banner bearer is still alive, its easy you do the following.
Go up to your opponant power unit
Shoot.
Charge, get to ignore over watch.
Go through assault phase, leave them in combat.
On the enemy turn, after assault in resloved use your banner to then do hit and run, right back toward your dark shroud.
RAW say you stop 1" away from any unit, so you are back in the shrouded cover, and you can shoot at full ballistics because you did not jink.
Repeat.
+Your dark shroud can jink all the time because and it does not matter because all you actually care about is the bonus it gives.
To many unpainted models to count.

I'll have to think about adding that into my next list then! The DA Speeders are (I think) the last DA specific models I don't have (And wont be getting for awhile cause this hobby is murder on my wallet ).

I would agree but it's a command squad vs just a black knight squad so since you can auto pass hit and run, you can abuse that when your enemy resolves their assault, you can leave the fight and be ready to shoot at them next turn at full BS. Then not suffer over watch on the share again.
I have been running it on my fully kitted BW command squad and its payed off pretty wel.
