Hi all, I'd like to know what your opinion is and why you think the vehicles you mention are worth getting/fielding. (And maybe how many? Idk)
Note that I've never played SM before, mostly because my friends played them. I do play Tau and Admech; CSM and Tyranid briefly more than a decade ago. I was about to buy three Vendetta's and min AM force to complement my Admech but, with the Deathwatch release (yeah sorry lol...) the Corvus Blackstar is pretty pimp looking flyer I'd consider building a SM army instead.
I've seen people use Rhinos for DT and Razerback spam. Bikes have made a comeback. I've maybe only seen like two Land Raiders at once on the table. I've seen a lot of drop pods (I won't consider nor field any..sorry, heresy I say). F the other ugly SM flyers, they look like flying potatos or flying shoeboxes! I've rarely seen Predators, Stalker/Hunter in my LGS meta.
Thanks for the read and advice.

Rhinos are currently very useful. But the really nice thing about them is that they're also the basic kit for a bunch of other stuff. If you're thinking about getting Rhinos you ought to buy Razorbacks, Predators, Whirlwinds instead and have those parts around for magnetizing/swapping out.
I currently have six Rhinos, but I can field them as three Whirlwinds and three Razorbacks at the drop of a hat. Whirlwinds are a bit of a mixed bag, but they do make up a cheap Auxiliary Formation in the Gladius. I like 'em.
If you prefer, you can also field a Predator with Twin Lascannon as a Razorback with Twin Lascannon. If you magnetize the side sponsons you get the flexibility of potentially three fieldable vehicles with one kit. Buy a Predator and you get a Rhino, Twin-Las Razorback and the Predator. IMO that's the best bang for buck on vehicle purchasing. If you get three of them, that's enough to field the full squadron and get the Tank Hunter bonus, or you have three transports for your Tactical Squads in your demi-Company formation of choice. Convenient

There are a lot of variables.
Some depends on your chapter, what formations you use, and what style of list you like.
The bread and butter you need is transports. If you don’t want pods, that leaves you with razors/rhinos. Both of which have pros and cons. Luckily, they are an easy swap, just by not glueing the top hatch on, so unless you can get a really good deal on a rhino, buy razorback kits. The few extra bucks is worth the versatility. 40k is very objective based, and these dumpsters get the boots where they need to be.
Vehicles, in general are fragile for their points these days. They can either be HP’d to death with medium weight weapons or haywire, or cracked open with all the strength D weapons that are being handed out like candy.
Preds and Vindis are OK tanks. Pred is good for sitting back and plinking away, the vindi is more high risk/high reward. Not hyper competitive, but should be OK for casual play.
Whirlwinds are overshadowed by TFC, by cost peanuts and do their job. Also fit nicely into a low cost aux for the gladius.
AA tanks are another cheep aux for the gladius, but how much AA do you need? Generally you would be better served with the flyers, which do a decent job keeping the skies clean. But if you don’t like the way our birds look, and fight a lot of flyers, the stalker should serve you well.
Land Raiders are oft maligned, and for some legitimate reasons. They want to go slow to shoot, but fast to deliver cargo. The cost a huge amount of points, and AV14 is not what it used to be. That said, they do get to laugh at people who plan on spamming down armor with massed S6-7 firepower.
Bikes are one of the best things we have these days. Not technically vehicles, but you mentioned them.
Land speeders are fragile, but decent. I like TML/HB ones, but they all have their merits.
Dreads got a nice boost with chapter tactics and 4A, but are still a bit pricy for the damage the deal. Iconic and fun though. Most of the better options rely on pods, so might not work well for you.

Vehicles in general are not in the greatest of places at the moment mainly due to hull points making them very easy to kill but with that in mind here's my two pence on the good ones...
Stalkers and whirlwinds: these are decently cheap and do their respective jobs well enough, won't win you the game on their own but they won't let you down or break the bank.
Land Speeder Storm: this thing is great, a super cheap, fast assault transport that can have a heavy flamer and large blast blind attack deepstiking in or outflanking, whats not to love. Plus the 5 scouts that come in the kit to model on as passengers (which I personally don't like) can easily be made into a perfectly good squad of 5 bolter scouts to use.
Dreadnoughts: with the increased attacks they're now looking pretty good, for 100pts you get a semi solid shooting platform that has 5 S10 attacks on the charge, that is a threat to anything!
The storm talon is pretty good in an all round fire support role to help deal with whatever comes up, if your using the new death from the skies rules then less so.
I know some players don't fancy getting into forge world but I will mention the Sicarian, a fantastic model that actually feels like a tank. It's fast, survivable and put out alot of firepower. Good but not overpowered.

Like many have said they are not the greatest and IMO, the best way to get the bang for your buck is to abuse the formations. For example with the WW, if you take 3 you get a formation that has barge, pinning, and shread on it, not to bad especially if you use ignores cover. Vindicator is the same thing, take 3 of them you get the line breaker blast which swaps out their 3 shots for a single apocalyptic blast that iirc is S10 AP2 ignores cover. One thing you can never really go wrong with is a LR loaded with terminators, its a high risk unit but with 14 all around its not an easy target to take down, even a str 8 weapon will only glance it.

Worst unit in the codex. Avoid this at all cost.
