Good afternoon folks. Made some slight changes to my 2500pt list. As I am heading out on a posting away from my family, I will have lots of time to work on and purchase additional units for both Mechanicum and my two Legions. So far, I have only managed to get in about half a dozen games with this force, all wins. I want to see if there is anything that I can improve on. So far, from recommendations, I have tried out the min size Thallax cohorts. Did not fair well with the three Thalllax units. Dropped out the Avenger in favor of more MC to use Archmagos Draykavac ' ability. Any further suggestions are welcomed, as well on recommendations to future purchases. No interest in any Knights or Legion allies.

I would concider giving "Rite of Pure Though" to the Thralls, so they will not get broken in CC.

I thought about that, but the lack of over watch gives me concern. Am I jumping at "rules" shadows?

Well, you have either 20 shots BS1 overwatch, kill one Marine lose around 4 or so Thralls in the subsequent assault, get broken and overrun or you can't fire overwatch lose 4 Thralls, the Thralls don't care and the enemy has to spend another 3 turns locked im combat before he can walz on to attack the rest of your army.

Makes sense. I can drop the Frag Grenades from the Castellax, and the Nuncio-vox + servo arm from one of the Adept and a servo automata. That frees up the 30 points to outfit both Tech-thrall squads.

I can recommend swapping out a single graviton gun and splashing an extra 5 points on the large myrmidon secutor cohort for an irrad cleanser.
You don't lose much by dropping a single grav template (thats still 5 haywire rolls!) and the D3 fleshbane auto-hits in overwatch are a powerful dissuading point for an assaulting unit.

I think this will not be of great concern against Marines and I wuld personally stick with the Grav, not only for the Haywire hit, but also for anothe slowing template.

And there is the catch. 40k opponents: Space Wolves, Red Scorpions, Dark Angels, Knight House and mechanized Imperial Guard. 30k: Sons of Horus.

The Graviton rules work well against these forces, as the owners have loads of armoured units, be it transports or MBT's.

Fair enough.
So it may be worth splitting them into 2 units of 3 so you can potentially take out two normal vehicles per turn when not playing against imperial knights.
