Ok so here it is the start of my Dark Eldar plog, expect it to go the way of every other plog I have ever tried and it die a silent death.
Honestly I am going to do my best to try and make this one work I really want to get my Dark Eldar finished (let's be honest here started)

What do I want to achieve from this plog?

1. To actually get my first fully painted and based army in over ten years.

2. To take a army heavily themed around Wych's and be successful in competitive play.

3. To improve my time management and painting skills.

4. To meet like minded gamers near me and have regular gaming sessions. (How this plog will do that is beyond me but hey we all need at least one unrealistic goal, wait I just listed 4 crap)

I love HeroQuest! Recently painted up the 4 player characters, but don't have time for the rest just now. Looking forward to seeing more, and good luck with the Dark Eldar too!

Came here expecting Dark Eldar. Found Heroquest (which are looking great, by the way).

So I have some Dark Eldar to show (I know right) I have decided for a black + yellow scheme and I'm going to use a green as a spot color as it harmonises well with yellow (possibly considering some purple due to the discord it has with yellow) well pictures are below doing one of each type for the DE so I can unify cult/kabal/coven but have them a bit different.

I had a great success with black not the easiest color to paint (spray) hopefully more progress to come

Mace you're starting the DE! Right on I'm looking forward to seeing your progress on here. Keep up the great work, love your HQ models btw, I've never played the game but I hear good things about it.

So I have some concept ideas laid out the yellow is only in first few very watered down stages like an idiot I forgot to paint brown first then apply yellow - smooth real smooth

What you guys think to the yellow placement








Hopefully it will work out however comments would really help at this stage before I over commit and it's the end lol

I think your yellow placement is perfect. It's not too much so as to make them too vibrant but it's enough to make sure they'll be standing out on the TT. The venom is great but for balance on the raider have you considered painting a couple of the back panels yellow too? Doing that makes sure that you're not front-loaded on the yellow and helps keep the theme throughout the model.

On the Kabalite warrior will you be doing her arms in black or yellow?

Unsure on the arms just yet depends were the plating falls think will have more black than anything

also probably should not of posted the raider pick as my idea for it was to paint all the black panels that are not connected to the rails yeloow and then leave those black will sort that over the next few days so that it gives a better representation of what I am trying to achieve

also I think my base yellow needs refreshing as the paint seems very thick and stodgy lol and I have to thin it a lot but it dry's incredibly fast

Gotcha, looking forward to seeing that re-vamped raider. And yeah I hear yellow is very hard to work with, as always best advice I can give there is multiple thin coats.

Been a while since I posted, don't worry I haven't given up just yet, been very busy with working and training 6 days a week.

Currently I am building a unit of kabalite Warriors as I have decided to paint a unit at a time and want to start with something simplistic first.

Hopefully some point this week I will put brush to them

So wow yeah another post this time with pictures of stuff I have started painting

So I amended the colour scheme slightly on the kabalites the shoulders will no longer be yellow but black and the plates on the arms will be yellow.

Also yes I have glued the sets of gun/arm to a cocktail stick so I can paint them unattached and then add later (little bit longer on build stage but I prefer it)

The hair is pretty much done, the skin has had a base coat and a wash, my yellow arrived in the post and it applies a lot better.

Loving how these are coming along. Very excited to see the finished product.

Looking good dude. I also prefer painting in parts to a certain extent, it does make it easier to get to those 'hard to reach places'.

So another update from me, wow don't get to excited

So I have had a go at dark eldar skin on my kabalites decided to finish the head to see how I felt about it, I like it I can see my mistakes but I'm stopping myself from stripping and repainting as this won't teach me anything.

I have decided to go with bright green eyes (fluff wise these guys just bang way to many drugs and its took its toll on them)

Looks great to me, suitably pale for the dark kin and contrasts nicely with the other colours.

Fear not I am still doing these guys just made a massive change to get a better yellow (undercoating white first) makes the process longer painting black back over white but the yellow is so clean. I did attempt cermarite white over black first and it just was not as good.

So some models have been stripped and I'm currently working on some wracks

P.s the way you upload photos here really takes the biscuit any faster ways?
