So I have 3 Mk 1 armours from this set: https://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/Armour-Through-the-Ages

They're quite different to Astartes marines, so I was hoping for suggestions on what to do with them.

I was going to suggest that you paint it in the colours of some of the Legions prior to unification with their Primarchs because of the different colour schemes - like the Dusk Raiders becoming the Death Guard and the War Hounds becoming the World Eaters, but reading the background again it references Mk.I armour being worn by the Thunder Warriors and no mention of the actual Astartes wearing it. I'm sure someone more versed in the fluff can correct me if I am wrong.

Otherwise you could use them as guards for a Rogue Trader or other dignitary.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

When I'm editing alot, you know I have a gakload of homework to (not) do.

An Inquistorial retinue? Not just because it would look cool, but I like the idea of some radical inquisitor having access to actual Thunder Warriors. You'd probably need to look up the name of the ones from that HH short story.

Plot Idea;
An Inquisitor is hunting Fabius Bile in the hopes of acquiring his data on his Astartes experiments. In the course of his studies he finds data that comes close to replicating Thunder Warriors, and as these are easier to engineer than Astartes he creates three as a trial to help get him close to Bile.

If it were me, I would clone them with my press mould and make an army of them.

Just me though.

I'd make an Honour Guard diorama/scenery. Fluff states that Thunder Armour is only really used as ceremonial wargear as it's significantly inferior to Astartes PA.

Use them as Stormcast Eternals in AoS.

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)

I think you should begin a new army. An Unification War army.
Using only Mk1 armors.
That would be a pretty amazing project !

And so expensive since there is only 1 in box.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

Interesting ideas. I like the idea of something like an inquisitor retinue.

I think with a little work the bolters could be turned into plasma guns (they already have the cooling coils). Giving them scion backpacks should make them obviously not marines and I could use them as storm troopers in game?

Only draw back is I'd need to get another 2 packs of armour through the ages (or somehow magic up a couple of mk 1 duplicates)...
