Beautiful paintwork. I almost never click on Black Templars because the army is about as interesting as sawdust, but you've done a great job on this one.

I agree with everyone else. This model is just about perfect. The black on the power armor is particularly excellent.

Exalted for a truly stunning job!

However, I have to say, the model itself is terribly un-Templar-y.

This is one of the many reasons that I so vehemently hate the Ultramarines. The smurfs are clearly stylized in a Roman method, and having all the 'generic' models fashioned with the smurfs in mind, makes them a terrible fit for the other chapters. No one would use this model for a White Scars captain (not just because he isn't on a bike ).

The BT are clearly fashioned and named in early Germanic style. The large, plumed helmet looks extremely out of place on them.

If Hollywood can be accused of 'white-washing' actors in their film casting, than GW is 'smurf-washing' all the SM chapters by making all the generic stuff look so obviously 'ultra' that it seems out of place if they aren't painted in white and blue.

...sorry for the rant, I got carried away.

Excellent painting though!

Just to echo this the painting is absolutely beautiful, but the model's aesthetic more suits a Greek or Roman inspired Chapter (like the Ultramarines) rather than a medieval crusade inspired force.

Thank you for all your kind comments. If I would know that this helmet is so not fitting to this chapter I would definitely sculpt different one. Unfortunately this is not a miniature painted for me, but specifically for Ebay and now I just don't have more time that I could spend on him. Ironic thing is that when I started working on him I was even thinking about painting this optional head without helmet, but I thought that more shining NMM element will look better

You've got nothing to worry about! Your painting is excellent and the model looks amazing.

My personal nit-picking about it being un-fluffy is just that - nit-picking.
