I have a box of centurions unbuilt and I'm looking for ways of adding them to a Raven guard army. The idea was to put them in a drop pod along with infilrators. The only way I seem to be able to do this is with a CAD. Is there any way of getting centurions in drop pods into a talon strike force other than adding a CAD?

No, there is not.

Well you could take them in the battle demi company then take an allied detachment of non raven guard with a drop pod fast attack choice and put them in it.

I thought you couldn't take put your battle brothers in an allied transport?

Would it be worth giving up on the talon strike force in order to use grav cents without having to resort to allies etc...

I'm hoping the FAQ draft will clarify this particular point. I can appreciate trying to tone down things like using Flesh Tearers Drop Pods as a taxi service for any allies, but Ravenguard not being able to use Ravenguard Drop Pods seems a bit over the top.

As it stands, I think you can only get them in a Drop Pod via CAD.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

If a CAD could be taken as a core choice within the talon strike force I'd be happy.

I use to put mine from the demi company taking the TSF in the raven hawk formation and get a drop pod for the sternguard. At least for the transport ruling as of now with FAQ they would still be part of the same detachment.

How does that work, I thought that since the drop pod was a dedicated transport for the sternguard only that squad could be transported in it regardless of what detachment it's from.
