I don't want to sound nutty, but my Vallejo paints have taken a few interesting aromas that are actually quite strong. Specifically, Russian Green smells quite strongly like some sort of Icey Hot/Vaporub/ointment and Dark Blue has a sweet scent, almost like a candy. Am I insane, or is this part of the mix that they use for these paints?

Stop huffing your paint ...

Screaming "witness me!" will be the next step from that, and no-one wants that.

Certain of the GW paints also smell rather ... funky - but there's a pigment related thing to those. Reds/blues and yellows often stink. It's a side effect of the pigments and the solvent carrier interactions.

I have an old pot of "bleached bone" that smells like banana...given that the paint is roughly the colour of a banana smoothie, it has me feeling a touch suspicious!

The thing is, I'm not huffing them. They just smell THAT strong.
