This was my entry for the P3 Grandmasters this year.

I didn't want to push myself as hard to improve my painting this year- mostly because I was dealing with the sleep deprivation that comes with having a newborn. I did, however, want to push myself in terms of basing, and I think that I succeeded there.

I went with a very battle damaged look. I think that if I were to do it again, I'd go for a bit cleaner look- still add some damage, but not nearly so much. As is, there's hardly an area on him that isn't covered with some sort of nicks and scratches.

I've posted him to CMON for anyone who cares to vote.

Digging it!

Much better than those wedding toppers, this is the real deal.

Life is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless and perfunctory gift nobody ever asked for. Unreturnable because all you get back is another box of chocolates. So you're stuck with this undefinable whipped mint crap that you mindlessly wolf down because there's nothing left to drink. Sure once in a while there's a peanut butter cup or a English toffee, but they're gone too fast and the taste is fleeting. So you end up with nothing but broken bits of hardened jelly and teeth shattering nuts. If you're desperate enough to eat those all you've got left is a. An empty box, filled with useless brown paper wrappers.

Gorgeous. That guy has clearly taken on all foes, and won.

We were once so close to heaven, St. Peter came out and gave us medals; declaring us "The nicest of the damned".

“Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.'”

It's green so I love it!

Seriously, the green armor is excellent, and I like the base. Great use of Nightmare's wall post bit.

That actually isn't the Nightmare's bit. The base is completely scratch built- all of it is green stuff.

It occured to me that I could use the post, but the style didn't quite match what I had already sculpted (it was worn in slightly different ways that I thought would make it stand out). I also think it was a little smaller than the one I have here.

Even better! That is some fine sculpting, especially the details like the metal O-ring.

Thanks.

When I was sculpting it, I was worried because it is one of those manufactured objects that looks wrong if there are any imperfections.

I consoled myself by deciding that it would be super rusted anyway, so I could probably hide any mistakes I make.
