Just asking because I have very little experience with 7th edition rules, and I'm tweaking on my list after my last thread here on advice.

Augury scanner seems point efficient, but if it doesn't work for template weapons...or doesn't really work well for short range specials I'd appreciate your opinions/facts on the matter.

(I'm basically making crib notes for all the rules I'm trying to pound into my brain here.)

It is point efficient just bear in mind the restriction is that it only provides Interceptor to Heavy and Rapid Fire weapon. So while the rules works fine with templates and blasts, it won't work with Flamers,Volkite Chargers or Meltaguns because they are Assault weapon. In terms of short range special weapons it works best with Plasma Guns as they are a Rapid Fire weapon.
