Maybe I missed the memo! Why aren't Thallax relentless? It seems pointless if they aren't.
1D4chan say,
'Their Lightning guns are somewhat short ranged (18"), but being Jet pack units their effective threat range is 30" and they're able to pull that jump-shoot-jump trick they move like normal infantry and get a 2d6" jump in the assault phase.'

Jump shoot jump?! Is this possible?

Disclaimer: I'm still a bit of a nub with 7th ed rules

Jetpck infantry are automatically relentless. Jump shoot jump refers to their ability to move as normal in the movement phase, shoot in the shooting phase, then move 2D6 in the assault phase due to their jet packs

To be honest, it's the special weapons that it makes far more of a difference for than the lightning guns. Thallaxi special weapons are amazing, especially when paired with the Djinn-sight ability.

A squad of 6 with two Plasma fussils are awesome.
A squad of 6 with two Photon thruster are good too.
A squad of 6 with two Multilasers are not bad against some stuff....
A squad of 6 with two Multimeltas or Rad-cleanser on the other hand.....
The Lightning guns are not the reason to take them. The special weapons are.

I know. A friend of mine used to keep going on and on about how awesome the lightning guns were for being on a "basic troop", but after several games against my Mechanicum, I finally managed to get him to understand that my "basic troops" are 40pts+ each, so I'm never going to have more than 6-9 lightning guns on the table at any time, which suddenly makes them no longer very awesome as they basically do little more than kill one or two marines a turn. No matter how good a weapon is, it's always the platform it's on that makes all the difference. That's why it's the special weapons that do the real heavy lifting for the Thallax. The lightning guns are just a bonus.
