Hello Dakka,

I'm about to begin painting the Salamander member of my Deathwatch squad who will be packing a heavy flamer.

What's the best way to go about painting that "burnt metal" effect around the the tip of the flamer? The non-scorched parts will be a copper color. I am armed with an airbrush and many brush sizes, along with a wide assortment Vallejo Model/Game Color/Air and Citadel (not Air) paints.
