Hi, I'm sorry if I've missed something in the rules but I'm a bit confused.

When I'm choosing models from the "Troops" section can I for instance, instead of using 60 points for a whole unit of 5 Battle Sisters, pick just 3 regular Battle Sisters and only pay 36 points for them? I know in AoS you have to pay the full price for under strength units but as this is a kind of "Dirty Dozen" set up with each model acting as an independent unit I hope this isn't the case for Kill Teams.

Similarly, given the number of different Troop units in Astra Militarum would I be allowed to chose a couple of models from a wide range of units or am I restricted to just 2 Troop units?

Again, apologies if I'm being very thick, I kinda just need clarification. Thanks!

No. You still follow normal army building rules (nothing about those changed) there just a rule that when playing the game models operate as their own unit

Yeah, you still need to buy things per squad, not per model. You still follow the same rules to buy models, only that you have a different FOC.

Heralds of Ruin is different to this, but the GW rules are still squad based.

Ah, disappointing but I thought that was the case. I'm sure it's for balancing purposes, I just reckon it goes against the whole "ragtag band of misfits or grisled vets" theme.

Anyhow, thanks for your help.

Feel free to make exceptions with your opponent's consent. Kill Team is intended to be a more narrative format than competitive.
