Hey all,

I'm trying to find a way to paint over coins, specifically for me Canadian nickels. They seem to fit perfectly in a round base and gives a good weight I like to the miniatures. Now my skeletons warriors standard bearer won't fall over on his face!

Anyway I tired using a black primer, Krylon ColorMaster Paint + Primer, which I use on any plastic miniatures I want primed black. The problem is that it doesn't seem to stick, and just pools in the recesses of the coin. What is the proper way to go about painting over these coins, specifically making them black?

Id probably try cleaning the coin before priming, could have all sorts of natural oils / grease on it which could prevent the primer sticking. Other than that it sounds like a slightly dodgy batch of primer.

This is underneath your base, yeah? Wouldn't bother painting it myself...

What primer are you using? Probably best off using a metal etch primer.

Sgt. Vanden - OOC Hey, that was your doing. I didn't choose to fly in the "Dongerprise'.

I have no clue how Dakka's moderation work. I expect it involves throwing a lot of d100 and looking at many random tables.

FudgeDumper - It could be that you are just so uncomfortable with the idea of your chapters primarch having his way with a docile tyranid spore cyst, that you must deny they have any feelings at all.
