Subject: Question About the New Kill Team Boxed Set

I am not exactly new to 40K but I haven't played in a long time. I picked up the Kill Team Boxed set as a low cost entry to playing 40K and I had a question about the Space Marine squad included. Can it be used to represent ANY chapter? My set included transfers for the Tau but not the Space Marines. Also, some of the marine shoulder pads have little hanging vials. Are those only for Blood Angels? Thanks in advance for any info you can provide?

Those aren't vials hanging from the shoulder pads, it's the "Marksman's Honor"--a bolter shell.
Yes you can use your Marines to represent any Chapter. Blood Angels have access to some different items that are not in the standard Tactical Marine box though(Inferno Pistols, Hand Flamers, and Heavy Flamers).

Pretty sure its a standard marine tactical squad so suitable for any chapter. Could the hanging 'phials' be bolt shells? I haven't seen the latest tactical kit (my marines are all older) but I know in the fluff there's supposed to be a marine marksman award which involves hanging a bolt shell from your armour.

The boxed set will have the two squads for the base game. You are open to use it for whatever you want to use it for. Depending on the chapter, I'm sure theres going to be plenty of loose rules specific to chapter, equipment, skills, etc. as per Kill Team.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money. |

I ended up splitting my ten marines into two 5 man squads; 5 Imp fists, 5 Crimson fists. Any chapters should be fine. And yeah, those are definite bolt shells hanging off the shoulders and guns.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.
