Hey dakka, I have a strange question for you guys.
I recently kitbashed myself a pretty nice looking iron priest and I was hoping to use him at my flgs Saturday, but there's one problem, he isn't on a thunderwolf and I don't have a ton of vehicles yet, in fact, almost none, so his Battlesmith rule is kinda useless, but is there any hidden tactic that I can use to make him carry his weight or no?
If not its alright, I just wanted to see if theres a way I can field this bamf without having to spend hundreds of dollars on cyberwolves
Thank you! And sorry for the dumb question
~Mikey

I don't bother with cyberwolves as a model, if you've got the skill to kit-bash an iron priest a few cybernetics on $40 of cyberwolves shouldn't be a huge step, personally I used leftover bits from my Long Fangs.
As for tactics the Heralds of the Great Wolf with Cyberwolves makes an annoying team - T5 average, Runic Armour gives 2+ and 6++, 4++ on the Wolf Priest, all on Priests that can ignore the first failed saving throw of each phase, -1 to Ballistic skill in shooting phase for anything targeting the priests, 6+ FNP Automatically Appended Next Post: Oh, Heralds of the Great Wolf -
1 Iron Priest grants ignore first failed roll while alive
1 Wolf Priest Grants FNP and It Will Not Die while alive
1 Rune Priest -1 to ballistic skill for anything targeting Heralds in Shooting phase while alive.

I don't break the rules but I'll bend them as far as they'll go. |

oh wow I didn't even realize that formation did that.
I just kinda wrote it off as another giant unit of HQ's that are completely useless, but with all the extra wolves and the possibility of outflank that actually seems really strong.
Thanks for the advice!

If you want him to be cheap you could use him to tank wounds on a unit but DakkaWolves suggestion is better.
How did you kitbash the Priest if you don't mind me asking?

Yeah, I'm keen to know that as well.
Iron Priests from the package are kind of limited so new ways of kit-bashing them offer options.

You only get a 6+ FNP from the Wolf Priest, unfortunately.
For my 4 Iron Priests I used Standard TWC models and changed their heads and dimmelled a hole in its backpack to pin in a Servo Arm from ebay.
Arms: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Alternative-Space-Marine-Techmarine-Techpriest-Servo-Arm-/301691555542
Head: http://megabitzshop.com/bilder/produkte/gross/Forge-World-Bitz-Warhammer-40k-Space-Marines-MK-III-Iron-Armour-Kopf.jpg (Name of head is called :MK III Iron Armour from Forgeworld)
Fair warning: Those arms we incredibly brittle but with some TLC I made em work. I also supported them with a paperclip and some green stuff wrapped around to make it look like caution taped piping.

Hey, I use those same arms.
I hate them but they're kind of the best I've found.

I used the body from the Space Marine Master of the forge (the one with all the tentacle Dr. Octopus arms), mixed with some arms I had in my bits box and a terminators thunder hammer, including a regular backpack with a servo arm glued on.
I would put a picture up but I'm at school
