Ok, so moving into my University in a few weeks and there is a GW near me and they do quite a bit of AoS so I was wondering if it was worth it starting up a force?

The Forces i'm interested in are forces I already have models in.

- Stormcast Eternals: I split 50/50 with a friend on the starter when it was first released. I was thinking on grabbing the Start collecting box.

- Sylvaneth: I have the Spirit of Druthu and a unit of Dryads as I was supposed to start up Frostgrave but that never took off.

- Death: I have a VC army back from 8th ed. WHFB and I loved my Vampires. With Nagash and Neferata I really want to throw out hordes of skeletons and Zombie Dragons..

Would anyone be able to give me some starting out advice for each army? Would love to know which army to first focus on

Stormcast: Easy to start learning with as there's few 'crazy' rules, there's also lots of them so you can easily pickup a cheap force either through start collecting boxes, ebay (through people who don't want them from the blood vs storm box). They are flexible, in that they don't tend to rely on major synergies or heroes so each unit has its own structure to fight an enemy, however they don't have mages of their own so you'll either need to ally them in

Secondary benefit: There's no allegiance rules for Stormcast, so you can easily benefit from allying in other characters, or allying them into an allied Order force.

Sylvaneth: Bit more complicated, relies on specially created terrain and fancy tricks and their army relies on each other to succeed. Not a point and click army that you can move forward and do well with but once you learn their rules and tactics with them they can cause havoc among the enemy.

Death: My least familiar faction, I know tricks but they tend to be slightly more synergistic around their heroes.

What do you have from your old Vampire Counts Army?
They split the faction up into smaller sub-factions in AoS so not everything has synergies with everything else.
Knowing what models you have will make it easier to recommend something.

Start with what you have, find out if you really like the game and the community then go from there
