Have some citadel paint, when it was opened there was a rather large blob of soft paint surrounded by thin watery paint. I have tried shaking it; adding more water and also mashing the blob with a stirrer but without much success. I had heard that there were issues frequently with GW's whites in this regard - was wondering if anyone had any suggestions? Could adding some kind of detergent or a solvent do anything to help?

Ceramite white? Had the same problem. Back to the store. Replaced. No bothers

My white was thick and chunky as well. I stirred and shook the living hell out of it, and added some matte medium to it pot. It helped smoothen out the consistancy of the paint and made it less grainy when painting with it.

Happened to me as well. From what I have seen it is a fairly common problem with Citadel whites.
