I know the CAD and Hunter Contingent are more popular options, but here's my rationale:

Other Stormsurges, Wraithknights, deathstars, IKs are all easier for me to kill in a DBC. I think I have more than sufficient marker support in the list so a hunter contingent doesn't help me as much as reroll pen and wounds.

I also understand no one is using the skysweep formation; but it's my only way of getting skyrays in a DBC and I still think they're great. Alpha strike; anti Stormsurge/Wraithknights/hive tyrants and provide marker support and windrider-killin SMS after they fire their missile racks.

As for the Crons; I thought about a Cullexus and am open to swapping out but I just figured that expert deathstar players simply know how to mitigate it. At least the Crons have more staying power. What do you think?

What do you think? Can I stand up against super friends/warp spider spam/IKs / riptide wing?

I think your list has potential and rationale is sound for the most part.

However, you are being weighed down by the Hunter Cadre being way too bloated. Breachers in that cadre are also not really useful without a transport. Just change them to a strike team.

The Crisis suit could be replaced with a Riptide in the Elite slot for more punch which you are lacking in the list outside the SS and the Wraiths. Pathfinders are fairly lackluster as well, especially if you already have a drone net.

Skysweep is a good choice.

I'd honestly go with a CAD if you want an SS otherwise switch to the Retaliation Cadre and get those relentless Broadsides for all your SMS and mid strength firepower needs/

I do have a devilfish already for the breachers; i would certainly prefer a RetCad if you could take a Stormsurge in one.

What do you think about dropping the skysweep though for a second stormsurge? The points are essentially equivalent.

And what about the Cullexus over the Necrons?

2 stormsurges are 4 times better than 1 stormsurge. Not only do you shoot twice as much you are more than twice as durable due to ability to shift wounds around. So if you have access to 2 surges, I would bring those.

Culexus is a good pick in this deathstar heavy meta. If you go dual surges, you have enough melee presence to drop the necrons and grab a culexus.

Just try to bring the surges in a hunter contingent so you can share markerlights with other units and nuke the deathstar to oblivion

Heh; if I bring two and a Cullexus I won't have many other units to help me nuke it! But yeah I think you're right. I added a 2-surge list, let me know what you think.
