So far on the GW site I see a few bundles, of which I assume are formations, the most eye catching is a demi company . Free transports? Another is the golden host, 15 sanguinary guard and the Sanguinor. Maybe the Exemplar of the Host won't be trash now? Of course, only time will tell, but this thread is for discussion/theorization.

Given GW hasn't given the free transport to any other formation, I imagine we will get some other rule.

The flavor text gives me the impression it could be something like the Storm Lance formation.

I'm thinking.. and hoping, that the Golden Host is our charge out of DS formation. From the GW description it seems so - "So lethal is the Golden Host that it falls upon the enemy before they even realise the danger, and lays low all who would threaten the Imperium of Man with ease."

I'm kind of surprised there are no Flyer formations. Seems like we would be the army to sell more flyers and promote an air cav play style.

The Wolves got free drop pods in The Blackmanes while The Ironwolves has free upgrades for all their vehicles. Considering one of the iconic Blood Angel traits is their fast Rhinos it wouldn't be farfetched for them to get some sort of points reduction way to field their metal bawkses.

It could be a special rule just as easily as a points reduction. Something like being able to disembark after 12”, or assault out of them would both fit the BA MO.

Blood Angel Rhinos already have a rule representing their overcharged engines.

The Demi-Company will probably be a more or less copy/paste of the Blooded Demi Company from Shield of Baal: Exterminatus.

I'm kinda excited for the DC formation. Seems like a redone Strike Force Mortalis without the Storm Raven Tax.

And I'm excited for the Golden Host as well. Finally can you field a Sanguinary Guard army again after it was removed.

Finally, one weird thing I noticed was that the BAs now have a boxset for Terminators and Dreadnoughts. If the formations show that they're not forced to deepstrike, then the BAs would have successfully stolen Deathwing from the Dark Angels.

I was thinking of the AoD formations when I wrote that. Forgot about the DA and Blackmanes. I'm not a fan of free transports, it is bad for the game. So we will probably get it.
