Is it acceptable to model a marine holding a bolter in two hands and add a CCW sheathed somewhere else on the model and have it count as being armed with both for assault purposes.  The figures that come in a package of grey hunters don't have enough components to model them all with Bolter/ccw.  I've had to add bolt guns to bolt pistol arms and then add extra ccw arms that I bought through mail order.

I'm getting ready to add two more squads of Grey Hunters to my army and I'd like to hear what some other players think about having a sheathed ccw on the model count as a ccw in the assault phase.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Check for plague marine arms. They have true grit as a gift so it would work well if you could get one without the nurgle symbols. Metal arms with bolters built into them.

I think true grit is one of those things most people don't bother to model. but yeah if you stick a combat knife somewhere on the fig that should be good. or do the Bolter + CCW or use bolters with bayonets. but I think most important is to stay consistent, at least across a squad and if possible across your army.

Do not use the CLEAR dice!

Dear Whiny Space Marine Players,
you get 3+ armor saves on all your troops (save scouts), Assault cannons, a huge assortment of vehicles and weapons, arguably one of the best if not THE best tank in the game, funny helmets, and a partrige in a pear tree.

suck it up, space marines. You're the emperor's chosen superhuman warriors. stop whining like a guardsmen and take it like a superman!

I dont think you will face much trouble as Grey Hunters are the only ones with True Grit in the army.

With the galaxy as large as it is the odds of the average guardsmen seeing and fighting a marine or MEQ are relatively slim. Unfortunately the guardsmen in your (and anyone else who plays IG's) army are the REALLY, REALLY LUCKY ones that fight marines ALL the time...

True grit looks cool though. More intimidating to have a chain sword and a full size bolter.

True grit technically could be as simple as having a sheathed knife somewhere as it's assumed this would act as a bayonet when charging or in HtH. I've modeled a few SMs with TG by adding the blade and hilt from the comabt dagger under the muzzle on a cradled bolter (i.e. like a bayonet).

I stuck the knife blade as a forearm blade before, too. If I recall correctly,
they were even selling Grey Hunters as regular Space Marines with the Space
Wolf accessory pack. They had true grit, and did not need separate armaments.

Thanks for the thoughts on this guys.  I think I'm going to try to go with the bayonet approach.  It sounds pretty cool to me.
